Part 2 Beginning September 30th

Old Town, Maine is a mill town up river from Bangor about 15 miles.  The town was celebrating River Days so Sonny and I went to check it out.  These girls are the University of Maine at Orono twirlers and next to them is the drill team.

This is the University marching band.  They played their football season shows for 45 minutes. The drill team and twirlers performed a different routine with every tune the band played. It was an impressive outdoor concert.

Back at my sister's house, we admired Billy's ice shack.  He and Kim built the shack last winter and used it several times.  It is well insulated, has a steel roof and is quite snug. Bill welded a mini wood stove just to fit into a corner. They tow it out to their hole with the snow mobile. Donna, Bill and Kim did an overnight fishing trip last winter in below zero temps. Only draw back is that it isn't self contained. It's a long way to the out house in the middle of the night.

My brother in law is a very talented person.  This car is another of his projects.  He re built the engine, did the body work, upholstery and the paint.  Kim drove it to her college graduation.

Kim, Donna and I had a chance to spend a day antiquing and we had lunch a favorite spot of theirs.

One vendor made interesting art objects from loose parts.
Odd parts can make a tractor.......

.....or a lamp.

The little restaurant had a license plate collection and Kim quickly found Washington.

Country decorations in the restaurant.
